Problem

/nz/kit/sbin/sendMail program failed to send mail

Symptom


When configured /nz/data/config/sendMail.cfg with Google SMTP server: aspmx.l.google.com / port 25, /nz/kit/sbin/sendMail program failed to send mail
and following is the error messages

(sendMail.6063) Info: NZ-00022: --- program 'sendMail' (6063) starting
on host '****' ... ---
(sendMail.6063) Info: An unexpected end of message response was received
(sendMail.6063) Info: Socket recv error
(sendMail.6063) Info: An unexpected QUIT response was received
(sendMail.6063) Error: NZ-01226: error sending Email to '', SMTP server
'aspmx.l.google.com', last response '421 4.7.0 Email Senders

Cause

This issue may be caused by incorrect permission set up for /var/spool/ and its files, when having this problem when running sendMail program, and /nz/data/config/sendMail.cfg has been properly configured, we may try to workaround this issue by "chmod 755 /var/spool" and then "service sendmail restart".
