Troubleshooting
Problem
User first makes sure that the keyboard's Numeric Lock (Num Lock) is enabled. User then launches main Controller client program (CCR.EXE). User click 'Company - Data Entry - Reported Values'. This automatically launches Excel (in the background). User notices that the Num Lock is now disabled.
Symptom
Num Lock on keyboard will be disable if both of the following are true:
- Excel is already open
- and the user tries to access Excel via Controller
Examples:
If Excel is already opened and the user does any of the following scenarios, then the Num Lock on keyboard will be disabled:
Test Scenario 1:
1. Launch Excel
2. Launch the 'main' Controller client (CCR.EXE)
3. Inside the Controller client, click on the 'Excel Link' button:
- The Num Lock on keyboard will now be disabled
- Therefore, in order to enter digit the user need to press Num Lock key.
Test Scenario 2:
1. Launch Excel
2. Launch the 'main' Controller client (CCR.EXE)
3. Click "Maintain\Form Structure\Define" and send any form to Excel application
- the Num Lock on keyboard will be disable and in order to enter digit the user need to press Num Lock key.
or:
1. Launch Excel
2. Launch the 'main' Controller client (CCR.EXE)
3. Click "Maintain\Form Structure\Define" and define a form
4. Send form to excel application for creating layout
- the Num Lock on keyboard will be disable
Test Scenario 3:
1. Launch Excel
2. Launch the 'main' Controller client (CCR.EXE)
3. Click "Company\Data Entry Reported values"
- the Num Lock on keyboard will be disable.
