Npm error: "Git not found" in Rational Application Developer

Troubleshooting


Problem

When using Cordova in Rational Application Developer on Windows, you might get an error when you attempt to install a plugin from Git. If you enter "git--version" in the Cordova terminal associated with the project, you get the 'git not found' error. This confirms that git is not in the PATH.

Symptom

You get the following error message:
