Problem
This technote explains how to resolve an error, Unable to login to the specified server, that can occur when attempting to login from a Windows IBM Rational ClearCase Remote Client (CCRC) connecting to a UNIX CCRC/RWP server.
Symptom
The following error is reported when attempting to log into CCRC:
Unable to login to the specified server
Unable to login: username or password is incorrect.
Attempting to login using the same client system via CCWeb (RWP) with the same user profile are successful indicating that the user is authenticating correctly to the UNIX CCRC/RWP server.
Note: At the simplest level, if you are unable to log into CCWEB using the same specific user account, then CCRC will fail subsequently. At this point, please verify your configuration on the UNIX CCRC/RWP server are correct.
