Problem
This technote identifies an IBM® Rational® ClearCase® defect relating to cleartool hostinfo -properties truncating the ClearCase installed version information displayed on UNIX® and Linux® hosts and provides you with information on how to workaround the issue.
Symptom
Running cleartool hostinfo -properties <host> can in some cases display truncated output not showing the ClearCase product version information on the host.
Example of output showing the issue:
# /opt/rational/clearcase/bin/cleartool hostinfo -prop cchost1
cchost1.localdomain: ClearCase 2003.06.10+ (Linux 2.6.9-42.EL #1 Wed Jul 12 23:16:43 EDT 2006 i686)
