Does Informix 14.10 support 32-bit applications?
Answer
- In order to keep up with the modern processor architectures and the operating systems, Informix server 14.10 is available for 64-bit systems only. Informix users who require a 32-bit version of the server can continue to use Informix 12.10.
- We recognize that there are many users who run existing 32-bit applications and would benefit from not having to recompile their applications in order to communicate with Informix 14.10 server. Informix 14.10 server is certified to be used with Informix ClientSDK 4.10 32-bit version. There is no current plan to end the support for CSDK 4.10 and we intend to support its upward compatibility for several years until client applications have substantially migrated to 64-bit platforms.
- Clients can continue to develop and recompile existing applications using the native compilers and Informix CSDK 4.10 on all the available platforms.
