Abstract
Instructions for downloading IBM Video Analytics V1.0 installation images from the Passport Advantage Online website.
Download Description
empower organizations across a variety of industries. The solution helps organizations analyze
video captured by fixed or moving cameras, such as those used for:
• Media broadcasts
• Sports (and eSports)
• Operations (for example, Industrial, Agricultural, Retail, and so on)
• Traffic monitoring
• Closed-circuit television (CCTV)
and easily extract key insights, patterns, and anomalies in streaming and archived video. It has a
standards-based open and extensible architecture that ingests both real-time and recorded video
to create rich metadata that can then be easily analyzed.
The insights from the video help users identify and proactively address operational issues, easily
find key objects, events, and highlights of interest, and overall assist users in driving better
decisions.
Video Analytics V1.0 features include:
• Real-time alerts to call attention to key events.
• Ability to easily send alerts and metadata to external systems.
• Automated, intelligent redaction features to assist users with compliance and privacy
requirements.
• Ability to attribute search capabilities such as clothing and personal attributes like facial hair,
eyeglasses, and estimated gender and age. Note that estimates depend on video quality and
are provided with confidence scores.
• Integration with IBM PowerAI Vision modeling software to enable dynamic modeling without
the need to engage developers or AI experts.
• Container-based delivery for all components on both IBM Power Systems and x86 platform
deployments to help enable faster installation and upgrades.
• Deep-learning object detection model that supports a wide variety of object types, including
cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, bicycles, and people.
• Deep-learning-based filtering capability to minimize false positives that can be caused by
shadows or reflections.
• Higher scalability based on Tensor RT, which allows AI inference models to be compressed,
allowing them to be run faster with minimal impact on accuracy. This enables users to
process more video with the same infrastructure or process the same streams at a higher
rate.
• AI-based vehicle color classification model that supports eight different colors.
• Basic model management capability to add and remove models on the deep learning engine
using a command-line interface (CLI). This capability enables users to turn models on and off
and deploy them as needed.
• Aggregation/summarization of deep learning detection results in tracks of moving people/
objects or alerts, greatly reducing the amount of data analysis for applications.
• Composite object detection and alerting that enables users to combine multiple models in
parallel so that a single image is fed to all models. The results from all models are combined
into a single response as though all detections came from a single model.
• Available on both Intel and IBM POWER9 technology-based platforms.
• Supported video management systems:
Product documentation
Use the PDF file obtained when downloading the VA image files for additional documentation. The product documentation contains detailed information for how to deploy, configure, manage, and use IBM Video Analytics V1.0.
Planning the deployment
Before you install the components of IBM Video Analytics V1.0, review the minimum hardware, software, and video requirements in the Detailed system requirements for IBM Video Analytics section of the product documentation.
Installing the solution
For detailed information on how to install and configure the solution, see the Installing the solution section of the product documentation in IBM Knowledge Center.
Downloading and assembling the product
When you purchase IBM Video Analytics, you can download the installation media from the IBM Passport Advantage download site. A direct download link is provided at the bottom of this page.
Log on to the IBM Passport Advantage Online website and download the eAssembly/eImages containing the required installation media for your environment.
The downloadable eImages for the IBM Video Analytics V1.0 product are contained in the following eAssemblies. The eImages have been grouped into each eAssembly by server type: x86 and Power 9.
| eAssembly | Description |
|---|---|
| CJ5UIEN | IBM Video Analytics V1.0 for x86 Servers English eAssembly |
| CJ5VLEN | IBM Video Analytics V1.0 for Power Servers English eAssembly |
The parts that are needed are dependent on the environment in which the components will be installed on. The following table specifies the installation options that are supported by component. The eImage Part column lists the eImage names to download from Passport Advantage from the specified eAssembly for that component for the environment options shown.
Note: There is no requirement that all 3 components be run on the same server type. While the components have been grouped in the eAssemblies based on server type, the appropriate eImages can be downloaded across both eAssemblies if there is a mixture of server types being used.
