If you extend an existing Eclipse 3.2.2 shell, you receive an error message during the update to, or installation of, the following products:
- IBM® Rational® Software Architect (RSA) version 7.0.0.5, 7.0.0.6, 7.0.0.7, 7.0.0.8 or 7.0.0.9
- IBM Rational Application Developer (RAD) version 7.0.0.5, 7.0.0.6, 7.0.0.7, 7.0.0.8 or 7.0.0.9
- IBM Rational Functional Tester (RFT) version 7.0.0.2, 7.0.1, 7.0.1.1, 7.0.1.2 or 7.0.1.3
- IBM Rational Performance Tester (RPT) version 7.0.0.2, 7.0.1, 7.0.1.1, 7.0.1.2, 7.0.2, 7.0.2.1, 7.0.2.2 or 7.0.2.3
- IBM Data Studio version 1.1, 1.1.0.1, 1.1.1, or 1.1.2
- IBM Rational Data Architect (RDA) version 7.0.0.4 or 7.0.0.5.
- IBM Rational Business Developer (RBD) version 7.1.0.2
This error blocks your update of RSA, RAD, IBM Data Studio, and RDA. Note that these products only support extending an existing Eclipse 3.2.2 shell. They do not support extending other versions of Eclipse.
You receive an error that states your existing Eclipse 3.2.2 shell requires updates before you can install or upgrade the product. If the Eclipse shell is a simple Eclipse 3.2.2 SDK, it mentions missing patches.

Some features and bundles of your existing Eclipse installation need to be upgraded with newer versions or are missing. You must update your existing Eclipse using its Install/Update manager. Use its "Help -> Software Updates -> Find and Install..." menu item to invoke its Install/Update manager. Alternatively, you can download the features and bundles from eclipse.org
