Local Storage Limit Exceeded

Question & Answer

Question

When doing and initial scan/backup why is the local storage limit exceeding?

Answer

After the initial scan/backup has completed, the next time a file in the include list is saved, the local pool will be purged back below the limit.

Example: User installs Tivoli Continuous Data Protection for Files or Tivoli Storage Manager FastBack for Workstations, after the install has completed they run "Scan Now" to backup all there important files in the include list. When the scan/backup completes the user notices that the local pool size is well over the limit they had set. If the user now is working on a .doc file (*.doc is in their include list) and they do a save on the file. The application will backup their .doc file and purge back the local pool.
