Troubleshooting
Problem
During the collection of a pedbg some errors might be seen. Use this document to confirm if the errors are impactful on collection.
Symptom
At various HMC versions and depending on the HMC configuration or HMC model, the following errors may occur:
1) /opt/hsc/sbin/copyLogs: line 1133: [: too many arguments
2) cat: /etc/adjtime: No such file or directory
3) ls: cannot access /data/codpool/*: No such file or directory
4) /opt/hsc/sbin/copyLogs: line 2115: logtime: command not found
5) Gather RSCT/RMC ctsnap and spooling in dump/rsct
/opt/hsc/sbin/copyLogs: line 1080: /bin/cp -p: No such file or directory
/opt/hsc/sbin/copyLogs: line 1080: /bin/cp -p: No such file or directory
6) Gather ServiceRM, LparCmdRM logs in dump/rsct
/opt/hsc/sbin/copyLogs: line 1154: /bin/cp -p: No such file or directory
/opt/hsc/sbin/copyLogs: line 1155: /bin/cp -p: No such file or directory
/opt/hsc/sbin/copyLogs: line 1156: /bin/cp -p: No such file or directory

7) Another app is currently holding the xtables lock. Perhaps you want to use the -w option?
Cause
Some of these errors are due to the platform of the HMC (x86 versus POWER), the current environment of the HMC (no systems attached), or features not being used on the HMC.
The pedbg collection will continue and the error won't prevent the collection from being successful. The customer should not ctrl 'c out of the collection or stop the collection.
Some of the errors have already been fixed at later levels, some will be addressed in a later PTF.

Diagnosing The Problem
Ignore the error and allow the pedbg collection to proceed and complete.
Resolving The Problem
The above errors can be ignored, they will not cause the pedbg to fail. Fixes will be delivered for errors not already fixed in a later PTF or Service Pack.
