Summary

There are multiple vulnerabiltities in the IBM® SDK Java™ Technology Edition that is shipped with IBM WebSphere Application Server. These issues were disclosed in the IBM Java SDK updates in January 2019. These may affect some configurations of IBM WebSphere Application Server for IBM Cloud Private VM Quickstarter.

CVEID: CVE-2018-12547 
DESCRIPTION: Eclipse OpenJ9 is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the jio_snprintf() and jio_vsnprintf() functions. By sending an overly long argument, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the application to crash.
