Abstract
In an IBM Business Automation Workflow and case augmentation environment that uses an external IBM FileNet P8 Content Platform Engine (CPE), a case activity that includes an embedded rule fails with the Work Performer Exception: Can't find com.ibm.rules.res.xu.messages bundle exception.

Symptom
When you run a case activity that includes an embedded rule, it fails with the Work Performer Exception: Can't find com.ibm.rules.res.xu.messages bundle exception. If you click the failed activity in the Case Client, you might see the following error message:

Cause
The ODMMessages.jar file, required for the embedded Operational Decision Manager rules SDK, is missing from the CPE directory.
Resolving The Problem
Complete the following steps to copy the required file on your system before you rerun the solution:
- Copy the ODMMessages.jar file from the Business Automation Workflow home directory /opt/ibm/Workflow/v19.0/lib/ext to the external CPE directory at <WAS-home>/lib/ext home directory.
- Restart the external Content Platform Engine.
