Report fonts change after import to a new server

Troubleshooting


Problem

This document addresses the issue seen where the fonts on a report change when importing reports from a different Cognos install on a different server. The default fonts in the Global Configuration settings of Cognos configuration of both installes are the same but the report output shows a different font type. This behaviour was noticed in PDF at first but appeared in other formats as well.

Symptom

  1. When running a report in PDF after importing to a new Cognos install, the fonts were different to the original.
  2. The versions of Cognos are the same.
  3. In Cognos Configuration, under Actions-> Edit Global Configuration... ->Default font, the defaults on both installs are the same.
