CVEID: CVE-2016-5417
Description: GNU C Library is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by a memory leak in the __res_vinit function in the IPv6 name server management code. By leveraging partial initialization of internal resolver data structures, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to consume all available memory resources.

Remediation/Fixes:
IBM recommends that you update the affected versions of Intel MPSS that are used with the Intel Xeon Phi cards supported in IBM System x Servers to MPSS version 3.8.3 or later.
