When learning a pattern in Lenovo XClarity Administrator from a server with a FC5054 adapter installed, the settings for that adapter might not be learned as an Extended Port Pattern. This means that it appears as though the adapter is not in the system,because it is not visible on the I/O Adapters tab of the Server Pattern Wizard.
The settings for that adapter are instead put into an Extended UEFI Pattern, which can be found under the Firmware Settings tab of the Server Pattern Wizard.

Symptom
When learning a pattern in Lenovo XClarity Administrator (LXCA)
from a server with a FC5054 adapter installed, the settings for
that adapter may not be learned as an Extended Port Pattern. This
means that it appears as though the adapter is not in the system as
it will not be visible on the I/O Adapters tab of the Server
Pattern Wizard.
The settings for that adapter will instead be put into an
Extended UEFI Pattern which can be found below the Firmware
Settings tab of the Server Pattern Wizard.

The system is configured with at least one of the following:
- Lenovo XClarity Administrator, 1.0.0

Solution
This behavior was resolved by Lenovo XClarity Administrator
FixPack 1.0.1.
The file is available by selecting the appropriate Product
Group, type of System, Product name, Product machine type, and
Operating system on IBM Support's Fix Central web page, at the
following URL:

Workaround
Instead of using an Extended Port Pattern to configure the
FC5054 adapter, use the Extended UEFI Pattern that was learned from
the same server. The adapter's settings can be found there. The
Extended UEFI Pattern associated with the server can be found below
the Firmware Settings tab of the Server Pattern Wizard.
Alternatively, the adapter's settings can be configured directly
through UEFI F1 Setup Menu.
Additional information
The issue occurs because the internal groupId for the FC5054
adapter is not consistent across versions of the card. This means
that Configuration Patterns cannot reliably filter out the settings
and place them in an Extended Port Pattern.
The workaround enables the user to configure the settings on the
card even though an Extended Port Pattern is not readily
available.
A fix for this issue will allow Configuration Patterns to
consistently filter out the FC5054 adapter's settings and present
them to the user in a usable Extended Port Pattern.
