Symptom
Starting with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.5 and 7.0, and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 (SLES12), the following messages (or similar ones) are seen in the system's Dmesg boot log:

Affected configurations
The system can be any of the following servers:
- Flex System x280 Compute Node, type 7196, any model
- Flex System x480 Compute Node, type 7196, any model
- System x3850 X6, type 6241, any model
- System x3950 X6, type 6241, any model
The system is configured with at least one of the following:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.6, any version, any Update 5
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, any base install
- Red Hat Enterprise Server 6.5, any update
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Linux 12
This tip is not option specific.
Note: This does not imply that the network operating system will work under all combinations of hardware and software.
Please see the compatibility page for more information:
http://www.ibm.com/systems/info/x86servers/serverproven/compat/us/Workaround
No Workaround needed.
The WARNING messages do not adversely affect the system and are not the result of a hardware issue.
Under Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) distributions listed
above, the issue will be fixed in RHEL 7.2.
For SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 (SLES12), the fix will be
released as *both* SLES 12 SP1 and a kernel update to SLES 12
SP0.
Additional information
An Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) Operation Region is a type of data object where read or write operations to the data object are performed in some hardware space. The entire Operation Region can be allocated for exclusive use to the ACPI subsystem in the host operating system. Operation Regions have 'virtual content' and are accessible only through Field objects. Operation Region objects can be defined down to actual bit controls using Field data object definitions.
When it comes to 'resource conflicts' on a system, usually from a 'Pnp' or system resource allocation perspective, the ACPI method or object utilized is the Current Resource Setting (_CRS), which determines the device that actually 'owns' the specific system resource. However, the above message explicitly mentions a resource conflict with an OperationRegion() construct, hence the direct mention of the ACPI 'RegionName' provided. Again, an OperationRegion() does not explicitly claim ownership of a system resource, the ACPI subsystem or ACPI operating system driver 'owns' it and is exclusively used by the operating system.
