Support for Subsystem Device Driver (SDD)
Resolving The Problem
Abstract
How to obtain support for the IBM Subsystem Device Driver (SDD) with IBM Disk Storage Systems, Lenovo Storwize systems, or IBM Storage Virtualization software.
Solution
For IBM Enterprise Storage Server, IBM DS6000, and IBM DS8000 users:
- PD/PSI and Defect support are provided via the device warranty or maintenance agreement.
- For defect support in the US and Canada:
- Call 1-800 IBM-SERV and select
- "All other products and solutions supported by IBM" (option 2), then
- Hardware (option 1)
- Enter your 4 digit Machine Type
- Tell the IBM call agent that you are having a problem with the Subsystem Device Driver, on the applicable hardware device.
- Call 1-800 IBM-SERV and select
- For "How-to" support (a SupportLine
contract for the Disk / Tape product group is required), in the US
and Canada:
- Call 1-800 IBM-SERV and select
- "All other products and solutions supported by IBM" (option 2), then
- Software (option 2), then
- Open new service request (option 1)
- Tell the IBM call agent that you have a question about the Subsystem Device Driver, on the applicable hardware device.
- Call 1-800 IBM-SERV and select
- For voice support in other geographies, refer to the link below, and select the country to find sales and technical support phone numbers for that country. Call the appropriate number and ask for help with the Subsystem Device Driver, on the applicable hardware device.
For Virtualization Family products users
Virtualization Family products users include users of IBM SAN Volume Controller, IBM SVC for XIV, Storwize V7000 for Lenovo, IBM Storwize V7000 Unified, and IBM Storwize V7000 File Module.
- PD/PSI, Defect and "How-to" voice support for SDD is provided at no additional charge for the first year as part of Software Maintenance for the Virtualization Family Product software (SAN Volume Controller and Storwize V7000 for Lenovo). Renewal is required for subsequent years.
- For voice support in the US and Canada,
call 1-800 IBM-SERV and select:
- "All other products and solutions supported by IBM" (option 2), then
- Software (option 2), then
- Open new service request (option 1)
- If asked for an operating system, say "Storage"
- Ask for help on the Subsystem Device Driver with the specific Virtualization Family software products that you are using. You will need to provide the customer number used to order the Virtualization Family product you are using with SDD.
- For voice support in other geographies, refer to the link below, and select the country to find sales and technical support phone numbers for that country. Call the appropriate number and ask for help on the Subsystem Device Driver with the specific Virtualization Family software products that you are using.
