Troubleshooting
Problem
With specific UEFI settings, the message "Connecting Boot Devices and Adapters ... XXX (count of seconds)" appears at the bottom of the screen during system reboot. The symptom can be observed by performing the following: Connect system to client through RS-232 cable on COM port. Boot into UEFI F1 setup menu. Navigate to System Settings, Device and I/O Ports, Console Redirection Settings and change below settings: Change 'COM port 1' to 'Enable' Change 'COM port 2' to 'Disable' Change 'RemoteConsole' to 'Enable' Change 'Legacy Option ROM Display' to 'COM Port 1' Change 'Com1 Active After Boot' to 'Enable' Navigate to Boot Manager --> Select Next One-Time Boot --> set 'Boot Next Value' as 'F1 Setup'. Save Settings. Under client, open putty and set as below: Select 'Serial' in 'Connection Type' Change 'Speed' to '115200' Navigate to Connection, Serial and change 'Flow control' to 'None' Click 'open'. Restart system and boot into UEFI setup menu.

The symptom can be observed by performing the following:
- Connect system to client through RS-232 cable on COM port.
- Boot into UEFI F1 setup menu.

- Select 'Serial' in 'Connection Type'
- Restart system and boot into UEFI setup menu.

- Lenovo NeXtScale nx360 M5, type 5465, any model
- Lenovo NeXtScale nx360 M5, type 5467, any model

Solution
This behavior is corrected in UEFI firmware v1.20 (THE108J) or later version.
