The IBM System x3100 M5 Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) contains an entry for 'Ethernet2' in the UEFI F1 Setup, under System -> Settings -> Devices and I/O Ports -> Enable /Disable on-board Device(s). However, Ethernet2 is invalid and does not work.

Symptom
The IBM System x3100 M5 Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) contains an entry for 'Ethernet2' in the UEFI F1 Setup, under System -> Settings -> Devices and I/O Ports -> Enable /Disable on-board Device(s).
However, Ethernet2 is invalid and does not work.
Affected configurations
The system can be any of the following IBM servers:
- System x3100 M5, type 5457, any model
This tip is not software specific.
This tip is not option specific.
The following system BIOS/uEFI level is affected:
Build ID: J9E114GUS, 1.02
Solution
This behavior will be corrected in a future release of UEFI.
The target date for this release is fourth quarter 2014.

Workaround
This is a non-existent device and can be ignored.
