The IBM Flex System CN4022 Dual-Port 10 Gb Converged Adapter, option part number 88Y5921, does not support 1 Gbps links until the card is configured with firmware 2.4.1D1 and driver nx2-2.2.5f-1.710.11 or later levels. (where Gbps = gigabits per second)

Symptom

The IBM Flex System CN4022 Dual-Port 10 Gb Converged Adapter, option part number 88Y5921, does not support 1 Gbps links until the card is configured with firmware 2.4.1D1 and driver nx2-2.2.5f-1.710.11 or later levels.

Affected configurations

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, any update 9
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, any update
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10, any service pack
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11, any service pack
  • VMware ESX Server 4.1, any update
  • VMware ESXi 4.1 Installable, any update
  • VMware ESXi 5.0, any update
  • VMware ESXi 5.1, any update

The system is configured with one or more of the following IBM options:

  • IBM Flex System CN4022 Dual-Port 10 Gb Converged Adapter, option part number 88Y5921, any model

The system has the symptom described above.

Solution

Update the IBM Flex System CN4022 Dual-Port 10 Gb Converged Adapte to firmware 2.4.1D1 and driver nx2-2.2.5f-1.710.11 or later levels.
