When running firmware level 12.12.0-0111, 12.12.0-0126, or 12.12.0-0133 on a ServeRAID M5000 Series SAS/SATA Controller, with an iBBU07 battery attached, after a relearn completes, the event logs might not indicate 'Battery Charge Complete'.
The Charging Status in both MegaRAID Storage Manager and MegaCLI also remain in the Charging state indefinitely. MegaCLI also reports the Fully Charged status as None. The overall status, however, indicates Optimal.
Users can determine which battery is attached (iBBU07, or the newer iBBU08 which is unaffected by this issue) by looking under the Physical tab in MegaRAID Storage Manager, and selecting the Battery Backup Unit (BBU).
Note: A battery type 'iBBU' in this output indicates iBBU07. A battery type o f 'iBBU08' indicates BBU08.

The 12.12.0-0111, 12.12.0-0126, 12.12.0-0133, or 12.13.0-0153
level of firmware for the ServeRAID M5000 Series SAS/SATA
Controller is affected.
The system has the symptom described above.
Solution
This behavior was corrected in firmware 12.13.0-0179-1 of
ServeRAID M5000 Series SAS/SAS Controller firmware.
The file is available by selecting the appropriate Product
Group, type of System, Product name, Product machine type, and
Operating System on IBM Support'ssa Fix Central web page, at the
following URL:
Workaround
This status indication can safely be ignored. There is no
performance impact or data impacted by this issue. The Virtual
Disks will remain in Write-Back mode.
Additional information
This issue occurs because the firmware is not correctly
declaring 'Charge Complete' for the band indicated by Limited Band
Charging. The future firmware will address this issue by correctly
declaring charge complete. For more information about Limited Band
Charging, refer to RETAIN tip H21631 (MIGR-5093515).
