Symptom
Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) may display only a maximum port count of 8 or 12 when multiple Emulex Fibre Channel or multiple Emulex Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) are installed.

Additional information
The port limit is a function of the available Extended BIOS Data Area (EBDA) memory. Only ports seen from UEFI can be used to start from the Storage Area Network (SAN). All other ports will be accessible from the operating system.
