Symptom
Dynamic System Analysis (DSA) Preboot does not show the correct machine type of the system in the Graphical User Interface (GUI) when installing Function On Demand (FoD) for the Emulex card. The machine type should be 4 digits, but GUI shows 7 with 3 system model types appended.
Affected configurations
The system may be any of the following IBM servers:
- System x3500 M4, type 7383, any model
- System x3550 M4, type 7914, any model
- System x3650 M4, type 7915, any model

Solution
This behavior has been corrected in a release of DSA Preboot firmware.
The file is available by selecting the appropriate Product Group, type of System, Product name, Product machine type, and Operating system on IBM Support's Fix Central web page, at the following URL:
Workaround
When installing FoD keys for Emulex on DSA Preboot GUI, users can remove the last 3 characters manually, and leave the first 4 digits as the system machine type of the system to install the FoD successfully.
