Troubleshooting
Problem
The affected blades have a Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) upper voltage threshold of 3.18v. The CMOS may trend above this value and generate a error event within the Advanced Management Module (AMM).

RETAIN tip: H205920
Symptom
The affected blades have a Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) upper voltage threshold of 3.18v. The CMOS may trend above this value and generate a error event within the Advanced Management Module (AMM).
Affected configurations
The system may be any of the following IBM servers:
- BladeCenter HS22, type 1936, any model
- BladeCenter HS22, type 7870, any model
- BladeCenter HS22V, type 1949, any model
- BladeCenter HS22V, type 7871, any model
- WebSphere DataPower Integration Blade XI50B, type 4195, any model
This tip is not software specific.
This tip is not option specific.
Solution
This warning has been removed in UEFI version 1.18
The file is available by selecting the appropriate Product Group, type of System, Product name, Product machine type, and operating system on IBM Support's Fix Central web page, at the following URL:
Additional information
The upper threshold will be removed from the CMOS battery readings in the second quarter lifecycle IMM code. There is a circuit within the affected blades that will automatically drain the CMOS if the voltage value rises to 3.4v. The battery is still considered good even when above the current voltage threshold of 3.18v.
Do not replace the CMOS battery.
