RETAIN tip: H205681
Symptom
IBM System x3530 M4 (7160) with a redundant Power Supply Unit (PSU) shows incorrect values for the Average Output Power and Average Input Power in Director Active Energy Manager (AEM).
The values are correct if read using the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) command.
Affected Configurations
The system can be any of the following IBM servers:
- System x3530 M4, type 7160, any model

Workaround
Use the IPMI command to check the Average Output Power and Average Input Power.
Command example:
ipmitool.exe -H 192.168.70.125 -U USERID -P PASSW0RD raw 0x06 0x52 0xf1 0x6e 0x13 5 0x20 0 1 0 0xdf
Command response:
13 20 00 15 14 00 00 3f 00 4a 03 f9 04 a1 25 80 09 60 09
In this example, '00 3f' is the average output power, which is 63 watts, and '00 4a' is the average input power, which is 74 watts.
