Problem

When IBM Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) manager is uninstalled, some Microsoft Windows registry entries are removed that should not be removed. Note: This issue only appears to occur in Microsoft Windows 2003 32-bit. This issue occurs in IBM_CD_Suite_v01.10.0004 and older versions.

Symptom

When IBM Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) manager is uninstalled, some Microsoft Windows registry entries are removed that should not be removed.

Note: This issue only appears to occur in Microsoft Windows 2003 32-bit.

This issue occurs in IBM_CD_Suite_v01.10.0004 and older versions.

Affected configurations

The system is configured with one or more of the following IBM options:

  • IBM 2200 VA LCD 2U Rack UPS (100 V /120 V), Option part number 53952AX, any replacement part number
  • IBM 2200 VA LCD 2U Rack UPS (230 V), Option part number 53952KX, any replacement part number
  • IBM 3000 UPS, Option part number 21301JX, any replacement part number
  • IBM 3000 UPS, Option part number 21302JX, any replacement part number
  • IBM 3000 UPS, type 2130, models 1RX, 2RX
  • IBM 3000 VA LCD 3U Rack UPS (100V / 120V), Option part number 53953AX, any replacement part number
  • IBM 3000 VA LCD 3U Rack UPS (200V / 208V), Option part number 53953JX, any replacement part number
  • IBM 3000 VA LCD 3U Rack UPS (230V), Option part number 53953KX, any replacement part number
  • IBM 3000HV UPS, Option part number 21302RX, any replacement part number
  • IBM 3000LV UPS, Option part number 21301RX, any replacement part number
  • IBM 3000XHV UPS, Option part number 2130R31 (Withdrawn)
  • IBM 3000XLV UPS, Option part number 2130R30 (Withdrawn)
  • IBM 6000VA LCD 4U Rack UPS (200V/208V), Option part number 53956AX, any replacement part number
  • IBM 6000VA LCD 4U Rack UPS (230V), Option part number 53956KX, any replacement part number
  • IBM LCD Rack UPS, type 5395, any model
  • IBM LCD Tower UPS, type 5396, any model

To fix this issue, download and install "UPS Management Software CD" version v01.14.0002 (or higher) from the '(Critical Update) UPS Management Software CD Image File v1.14.0002_A07 - IBM BladeCenter and System x' web page, at the following URL:

The full file names used are as follows:

  • IBM_CD_Suite_01.14.0002_A07_anyos_noarch.pdf

Additional information

There is a bug in the older versions of the program that was fixed in version v01.14.0002.
