After Ethernet devices are disabled in the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) F1 Setup menu, the devices are still displayed in System Management BIOS (SMBIOS) type 10 and 41.
This issue occurs when using the Desktop Management Interface (DMI)utility to dump SMBIOS type 10 and 41. The response is similar to these messages:

Solution
This behavior has been corrected in Unified Extensible Firmware
Interface (UEFI) firmware update released with Second Quarter 2014
system code stack.
The file is available by selecting the appropriate Product
Group, type of System, Product name, Product machine type, and
operating system on IBM Support's Fix Central web page, at the
following URL:
http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/
Workaround
Instead of SMBIOS, use either the lspci command
on Linux, or use the Microsoft Windows Device Manager to check
available Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) devices.
