Symptom
While configuring Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) to Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), system cannot connect to PXE server.
Affected configurations
The system may be any of the following IBM servers:

- iDataPlex dx360 M2 Server, type 6380, any model
- iDataPlex dx360 M2 Server, type 7321, any model

Workaround
Configure the PXE to Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) and system will boot from PXE server normally.
Additional information
For IPv6 to be working, all related components in a system must be IPv6 ready. This includes Basic Input/Output System (BIOS), Network Interface Controller (NIC) firmware, and operating system drivers. Currently, the NIC firmware and operating system are not fully IPv6 enabled.
IBM is working with all the vendors, including NIC vendors and operating system vendors to enable the IPv6 technology.
The target date for the enablement is fourth quarter, 2012.
