Problem
After updating the Brocade 10 Gigabits CNA adapter's device driver using the 2.3.0.3 driver update package under Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL6)), the ethernet interface cannot connect to the network. Symptom
After updating the Brocade 10 Gigabits CNA adapter's device driver using the 2.3.0.3 driver update package under Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL6)), the ethernet interface cannot connect to the network.
When ifconfig is run, the Media Access Control (MAC) address is all 0's, such as in the following:

The system is configured with at least one of the following:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, any update
The system is configured with one or more of the following IBM Options:
- Brocade 10 Gigabit CNA for IBM System x, Option part number 42C1820, replacement part number 42C1822
The 2.3.0.3 device driver for the Brocade 10Gigabit CNA is affected.
Brocade 10 Gigabit CNANote: This does not imply that the network operating system will work under all combinations of hardware and software.

Solution
This behavior will be corrected in a future release of Brocade CNA or Host Bus Adapter (HBA) FC Device Driver for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.
The target date for this release is scheduled for third quarter 2011.
The file will be available by selecting the appropriate Product name, Product machine type, and operating system on IBM Support's Fix Central web page, at the following URL:

Download and install standalone drivers from Brocade:
Additional information
The version 2.3.0.3 driver update package does not properly override the RHEL 6 driver.
