Troubleshooting
Problem
After manually or automatically starting a Battery Backup Unit (BBU) relearn cycle every 30 days in IBM MegaRAID Storage Manager (MSM) and waiting 10 seconds before hitting the Refresh Properties button, the BBU temperature will increase to 53 degrees Celsius (127.4 degrees Fahrenheit). The battery relearn cycle will stop and the MSM application will show the following warning message: Warning: Battery temperature is high

Symptom
After manually or automatically starting a Battery Backup Unit (BBU) relearn cycle every 30 days in IBM MegaRAID Storage Manager (MSM) and waiting 10 seconds before hitting the Refresh Properties button, the BBU temperature will increase to 53 degrees Celsius (127.4 degrees Fahrenheit).
The battery relearn cycle will stop and the MSM application will show the following warning message:

Additional information
This issue was discovered in a specific configuration when one Central Processing Unit (CPU) and one Power Supply Unit (PSU) is installed while the ambient temperature is between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius (68 - 71.6 degrees Fahrenheit). The fan speed of the power supply is low, which results in a poor thermal condition for the BBU.
IMM version 1.33, or later has a modified fan speed table to improve the Intelligent Battery Backup Unit (iBBU) thermal condition.
