IMM User password does not save - IBM System x

Problem

When creating a new Integrated Management Module (IMM) user, the password must contain a minimum of five (5) characters, one being a non-alphabetic character. Note: The profile is not saved if it contains one of the following characters when the IMM firmware is earlier than version 1.14: & (ampersand) < (less than) ! (exclamation point) # (pound sign)

Symptom

When creating a new Integrated Management Module (IMM) user, the password must contain a minimum of five (5) characters, one being a non-alphabetic character.

Note: The profile is not saved if it contains one of the following characters when the IMM firmware is earlier than version 1.14:

  & (ampersand)
< (less than)
! (exclamation point)
# (pound sign)

  • System x3550 M2, type 7946, any model
  • System x3550 M3, type 4254, any model
  • System x3550 M3, type 7944, any model
  • System x3650 M2, type 4199, any model
  • System x3650 M2, type 7947, any model
  • System x3650 M3, type 4255, any model
  • System x3650 M3, type 7945, any model

The yuoo57h firmware for the IMM is affected.

The following system firmware level(s) are affected:

  • IMM v1.10 (yuoo57h)

Solution

This issue is fixed in IMM build yuoo73m version 1.14.
