Symptom
When using Microsoft Windows Vista, the mouse cursor within the Advanced Management Module (AMM) Remote Graphics applet window pane may disappear and return to the client operating system console.
Affected configurations
The system may be any of the following IBM servers:
- BladeCenter Chassis, type 7967, any model
- BladeCenter Chassis, type 8677, any model
- BladeCenter E, type 8677, any model
- BladeCenter H, type 7989, any model
- BladeCenter H, type 8852, any model
- BladeCenter HT, type 8740, any model
- BladeCenter HT, type 8750, any model
- BladeCenter S, type 1948, any model
- BladeCenter S, type 7779, any model
- BladeCenter S, type 8886, any model
The system is configured with at least one of the following:
- Microsoft Windows Vista 64-bit Business Edition, any service pack
This tip is not option specific.
The following system firmware level(s) are affected:

Solution
There are two choices to recover once in this condition:
Option 1:

Press the left ALT key to exit capture mode and then recapture the mouse. |
Option 2:
| |
Open and then close the applet. |
Workaround
Adjusting the mouse speed to a slower speed (25 percent or slower) on the Microsoft Vista client is a workaround to prevent this condition. This is done by the following steps:

Start -> Control Panel -> Mouse -> Pointer Options -> Pointer Speed |
Additional information
The workaround of using a slower mouse cursor speed in the client operating system make it less likely that the mouse will exit the applet window pane and return to the client operating system console.
