If the BladeCenter Management Module (MM) is at firmware level 86L and the CLI command "users -2" is issued, the MM will failover to the standby MM. The sequence to enter this command is: 1. Log onto primary MM via telnet. 2. Change the environment to the active MM (env -T system:mm 1 ). 3. Enter the command "users -2". What should happen is the CLI will report user settings for user number 2. What actually happens is the MM will immediately fail, and if there is a redundant MM, it will fail over to theredundant MM.

Symptom
If the BladeCenter Management Module (MM) is at firmware level 86L and the CLI command "users -2" is issued, the MM will failover to the standby MM.

The BRET86L firmware for the Management module is affected.
This tip is not Operating System specific.
Solution
Update MM to firmware version BRET86P or later.
The file is available from the IBM System x Support web site.
Workaround
Do not issue the users command.

The updated firmware corrects a stack overflow issue in the code.
