Problem
When running the IBM 10 GbE PCIe SR Server Adapter, Option 42C1760 (FRU 42C1762) and Card, Option 42C1761, in any server system configured with more than or equal to 31 GB of system memory, the user may experience loss of networking connection to the adapter. The user may be able to install the adapter and run the adapter before the loss of network link occurs or the user may not get any network link from the start. The adapter is only supported for server system configuration that consists of less than31 GB memory.

Issue
When running the IBM 10 GbE PCIe SR Server Adapter, option 42C1760 (replacement part number 42C1762) and card, option 42C1761, in any server system configured with more than or equal to 31 GB of system memory, the user may experience loss of networking connection to the adapter.
The user may be able to install the adapter and run the adapter before the loss of network link occurs or the user may not get any network link from the start. The adapter is only supported for server system configuration that consists of less than 31 GB memory.

Workaround
Use adapter, option 42C1760, only in server system configuration that has less than 31 GB of memory.
