Troubleshooting
Problem
In servers using the Broadcom 5708C or 5708S chip (running Microsoft Windows 2003 of any Service Pack 32 or 64-bit and utilizing NDIS driver 3.0.5), if one or both NICs are disabled and the server is restarted or shut down, the server may show a blue screen with error code 0x0000007E. The feature "Automatically restart" must be unchecked in System Properties to see this issue. To uncheck this feature, perform the following: 1. Go to the Control Panel. 2. Click on System. 3. Click on Advanced. 4. Click on Startup and Recovery. 5. Click on Setting. 6. Click on System Failure. If the feature "Automatically restart" is checked, the error still occurs. The difference is a log will be dumped and the system will restart.
