After flashing 1.06 CPLD code on any of the affected machine types, the system might fail to work. This includes problems such as failing CPU's, unexpected shutdowns, and failure to complete POST successfully.

CPLD code for System x3850 (Type 8863) is not compatible with System x3850 (Type 8864).
CPLD code for System x3950 (Type 8872) is not compatible with System x3950 (Type 8878).
CPLD code for System x3950E (Type 8874) is not compatible with System x3950E (Type 8879).
CPLD code for System x3800 (Type 8865) is not compatible with System x3800 (Type 8866).
Flashing the wrong CPLD code on a system could render the system unusable to the extent that it will fail to boot.
