Personal injury or system damage may occur if any components of an IBM Power Distribution Unit (PDU), or an IBM Distributed Power Interconnect (DPI), are accessed by persons who have not received IBM approved Service training.

This tip is not software specific.

Solution

PDU or DPI service on IBM Power Distribution Unit (PDU), or IBM Distributed Power Interconnect (DPI), in the field is limited to replacing whole parts with a replacement part number or CRU number.

Only IBM Servicers should attempt troubleshooting and repairs of defective PDU's or DPI's at designated facilities. Opening the PDU or DPI for repairs should not be performed in the field.

Additional information

Accessing sealed PDU or DPI parts by anyone except specifically designated Servicers will void the warranty and support of the entire product because of serious health, safety, and legal issues.
