Troubleshooting
Problem
The second tape backup device, LTO3 tape drive, might experience configuration issues due to the SCSI cable not having thumb screws to secure correctly to the corresponding connector. The appearance of a SCSI III internal cable versus a SCSI III externalcable is a fundamental symptom. Although functionally equivalent, the external version of SCSI III cables have more robust connector ends which allow for a positive lock to the host connector.

This tip is not hardware specific.
The system is configured with one or more of the following IBM Options:
- 4U Universal Tape Library, Option 33614LX
This tip is not software specific.
Solution
---
Contact service and request the CRU/replacement part number Option 19P0051. This is the SCSI III external cable for the unit.
Workaround
---
Use the SCSI III internal cable.
Additional information
---
The internal cable, replacement part number 25R5164, was inadvertently packaged with some initially built 3362-4LX units. However, this cable is functionally equivalent to the external SCSI III cable. The differences are purely cosmetic such as the connector ends and screw-in keepers on the external connectors.
The Build of Materials has been changed. If a user has received an internal cable, contact IBM Service and Support to request replacement part number 19P0051.
