When the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 3 AS log-in GUI interface appears, the monitor displays the message "Input Signal Out Of Range".Affected configurations
The system may be any of the following IBM eServers:- IBM eServer xSeries 336, Type 8837, any model
The system is configured with one (1) or more of the following:
- IBM ThinkVision L170 LCD Monitor, Type 6734, model AB0
- IBM NetBay-Local Console Manager (LCM), Type 1735, model L04
The following NOS(es) are affected:
- Red Hat Advanced Server Linux, version 3

The system has the symptom described above.
Solution
NoneWorkaround
During the installation of RHEL 3 AS, the video driver to select should be driver=vesa instead of driver=radeon.Edit the /etc/X11/XF86Config file and change the video driver from "radeon" to "vesa".
