Symptom
When an additional ServeRAID adapter is added to an existing Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000 cluster node, and the ServeRAID bootable CD is used to boot the system and create logical disks, the newly created logical disks will be unavailable in the Windows NT 4.0 Disk Administrator or the Windows 2000 Disk Management snap-in.

- A ServeRAID-4Lx Ultra160 SCSI controller, option part number 06P5740, replacement part number (FRU) 06P5741
- A ServeRAID-4Mx Ultra160 SCSI controller, option part number 06P5736, replacement part number (FRU) 06P5737
The following NOSs are affected:
- Microsoft Windows NT Server, Enterprise Edition, with Service Pack 6 applied
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server, with Service Pack 2 applied
Solution
Perform the steps described in the Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 175278 ("How to Install Additional Drives on the Shared SCSI Bus") when adding the additional ServeRAID adapter.
Workaround
Create logical disks using the installable ServeRAID Manager application, not using the ServeRAID Manager bootable CD.
