Problem

Symptom After updating the system to version 39a of the BIOS (ngjt39a.exe), the system reports a 187 error message after a warm boot. Affected configurations An IBM IntelliStation M Pro, machine type 6898, with BIOS version NGJT39A Workaround

Resolving The Problem

Symptom
After updating the system to version 39a of the BIOS (ngjt39a.exe), the system reports a 187 error message after a warm boot.

Affected configurations
An IBM IntelliStation M Pro, machine type 6898, with BIOS version NGJT39A

Workaround
If Enhanced Security is not required

  1. Reflash the BIOS.
  2. When prompted if you want to enable Enhanced Security, select No.

This will prevent the error message from appearing after a warm boot.

If Enhanced Security is required
Ignore the error message when it appears after a warm boot. When prompted, select Exit setup to bypass the error and boot to the operating system.

Solution
This will be corrected with release 41 or later of the BIOS update.
