Resolving The Problem

Adaptec SCSI Controller - How to check the 'Host Adapter Termination' setting:

  1. Boot (or reboot) the system.
  2. Press and hold Ctrl+A when prompted enter the SCSISelect Utility.
  3. Select Configure / View Host Adapter Settings.
  4. Select Host Adapter Termination.
  5. Ensure Host Adapter Termination is set properly according to the following tables (depending on your controller).
Host Adapter Termination for controllers with LOW/HIGH settings:
If devices are attached to:

NOTE: If the SCSI controller is Wide, ensure that the high bits are terminated. If you are not using any external SCSI devices, then ensure that the Host Adapter is terminated if it has an external SCSI port.
