Problem
Avid Xpress DV launch problem for the IBM IntelliStation M Pro (Type 6868).
Resolving The Problem
Symptoms
When launching the Xpress DV application, a dialog box will appear with the following message:
"The ordinal 6657 could not be located in the dynamic link library MFC42.DLL"
Affected configurations
IBM IntelliStation M Pro, Type 6868, models 91x and 92x with the following:
- Part number of the Xpress DV Application CD is 0010-03751-01... without "Rev. B" following the part number
- Revision of the MFC42.DLL file in the WINNT40/System32 directory will be reported as version 4.xx.xxxx
Solution

Reinstall the Xpress DV application using the Xpress DV Application CD.
- Do not do an uninstall of the Xpress DV application... leave the non-working install in its current state.
- When performing the re-installation, do not choose to do a full install. Rather, select "Repair Xpress DV installation" when prompted for this choice at the beginning of the re-installation of the software.
- Do not do an uninstall of the Xpress DV application... leave the non-working install in its current state.
- After re-boot... verify the version of the MFC42.DLL file in the WINNT40/System32 directory is now version 6.xxxx.
NOTE: A very small percentage of customers may see these symptoms with a "Rev. B" CD. The solution is the same.
