Engineering Change Announcement 055 (ECA055) has been released. The purpose of this ECA055 is to provide for replacement of the system board in a number of IBM eServer xSeries 230/340 and Netfinity 5100/4500R systems. The IBM xSeries 230 and 340 and Netfinity 5100 and 4500R systems may experience the following symptoms, even though the power has been verified as good, which includes but is not limited to power connections, cables, and power supply.
- The systems may power down unexpectedly.
- The systems will not power up (which is defined as the fans not moving and system power LED blinking).
