Problem
This technote provides solutions to the MSI Installer error 1935 that can occur when installing IBM® Rational® software.
Cause
This error can appear in multiple variations some of which are listed here:
Installer Information Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly "'Microsoft.MSXML2,publicKeyToken="6bd6b9abf345378f", version="4.0.2.0",type="win32",processorAtchitecture="x86"". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT:0x8007002.
"Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component Microsoft.MSXML2,publickeytoken="6bd6b9ABF345678F", version="032.0" ProcessorArchitecture="x86"". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT:0x80070003.
This error is known to be occur in two scenarios:
- Insufficient disk space on the machine to allow for a complete installation.
- Spyware or third party software that is installed on the machine.
Resolving The Problem
Validate your installation system has enough free disk space to install the IBM Rational product. Look up the minimum hardware requirements for you product in the IBM Rational Release notes for your product version on the IBM Publication Center.
If you know you have enough free disk space on your system please review the following Microsoft® solution. IBM Rational products use the MSI installer and will receive the same error codes as Microsoft products. The possible solution described her is to remove the potential spyware and software installed.
