Abstract
IBM DS3000 Storage Subsystem Controller Firmware/NVSRAM v07.35.41.02
Download Description
IBM System Storage DS3000 storage subsystem controller firmware version 07.35.41.02 for the DS3200, DS3300 and DS3400 storage subsystems.
This firmware version is required to support the IBM DS3000 System Storage DS3300 storage subsystems. The IBM DS3000 Storage Manager
host software version 10.35.xx.xx is required to manage DS3000 storage subsystems with controller firmware version 07.35.41.02 installed.

Version History
This is the latest release of IBM DS3000 System Storage controller firmware/NVSRAM for the DS3300 storage subsystem.
April 3, 2009 - Version 07.35.41.02
- Fixed Snapshot persistence of LBA64 values being truncated to 32, bits which could result in data segments from a different LBA being used.
- Fixed 32 vs 64 bit conversion during reconstruction could cause data segments to be truncated.
February 20, 2009 - Version 07.35.41.01
- Fixed the issue that caused the fans to run at maximum speed on a single controller after upgrading from 06.70.xx.xx to 07.35.41.00
November 5, 2008 - Version 07.35.41.00
- Added support for RAID 6 (p+q implementation)
- Support for greater than 2TB Logical Drive.
- Support for RAID 0 and 1 arrays with more than 30 drives.
- Increase maximum number of partitions to 32.
- Added the ability to create Arrays with out having to define Logical Drives.
- Added an advanced controller cache battery learn cycle. This feature will perform a periodic learn cycle to determine the full recharge capacity of each battery.
- Support Bundle Collected on Critical Events. Upon occurrence of a critical event, the monitor will save the support bundle to the local hard drive of the client system in the same area as used for other recovery information. This information will not be overwritten for at least 72 hours.
- Solaris 10 support. Solaris 10 will be supported as an I/O attach only solution. The failover mechanism will be MPxIO (native to the OS).
- Added feature that will allow user to Import and Export Arrays. This feature will import or export all Array features and data but will not import any premium feature keys.
- Uniform noncompliance/not-within-limits behavior. Create uniform behavior for situations in which a premium feature has a non-compliant/not-within-limits condition, regardless of which feature it is and how it was enabled (SAFE key or feature pack).
- Configurable failed drive replacement. The user will be allowed to specify that a hot spare (thus eliminating the copyback operation) or an unassigned drive be a permanent member of the array.
- Support for IPv6 on the controller management Ethernet ports.
- Support Telnet protocol on the controller management Ethernet ports.
- Added a pre-read redundancy check. Enable verification of redundant RAID data consistency before returning the requested read data back to the host. This feature should be enabled on a logical drive basis. It will automatically be disabled when a logical drive is degraded. If a mismatch is detected, the controller will return a Media error
- unrecoverable read error (03/11/00). The subsystem will not attempt to correct or recalculate parity automatically. This will support all raid levels.
- Added 2 Flashcopies by default with a maximum number of 64 supported when using the Flashcopy premium feature.
- Increase the number of Flashcopies per logical drive to 8.
- Added support for RedHat v5.2 and SLES10 SP2.
- Create Unmanageable Icon. Create a new icon in the EMW to differentiate between Unresponsive and Unmanageable. The unmanageable would be any Controller Subsystem for which there isnt the corresponding JAR file.
- Ability to selectively reset configuration. Including resetting the system to full factory defaults. (Only available via CLI)
April 28, 2008 - Version 06.70.69.00
- Added support for Windows Server 2008 operating system.
- Added support for AIX v6.1 operating system.
- Added support for VMWare ESX Server with DS3200 storage subsystem.
- Fixed an issue where if a logical drive is expanded to the maximum size of 2000MB, this would prevent any other logical drive from being expanded.
- Updated the RAID IOC firmware to version 11.155.00
- Fixed an issue were the I/O count would be incorrect after a Link Error.
- Fixed an issue were the amber LED on a SATA hard drive would remain on after a controller was replaced.
- Fixed an issue were performing an ESM firmware download could cause an ancient I/O error and reboot the controller.
- Fixed a problem with the management port dropping connections and causing that controllers management port to be unreachable.
- Fixed an issues were the SCSI2 reservation was not being passed to the host system and LUNs were not able to be mapped.
- Upgraded controller SAS expander firmware to version 1.16e05c.
- Fixed an issue were the SAS expander would lock up after downloading new SAS expander firmware. This could cause hard drives to not be discovered and arrays to fail because of missing drives.
- Fixed an issue were controllers were getting errors when setting the iSCSI IP address. Causing the iSCSI IP address to not become set.
- Fixed an issue were the battery backup fault LED would come on when no battery unit was installed in a controller.
- Fixed a problem with the management port ethernet driver where a broadcast storm on the network could cause the controller to reset.
- Corrected IQN naming issue were using 101 characters would cause the controller to reboot.
- Fixed an issue were during a controller replacement operation, the replacement controller would synchronize its firmware version with the surviving controller and then reboot as designed. During the reboot operation, the replacement controller could then cause the surviving controller to reboot.
- Corrected issues were some MEL event data IDs were getting corrupted.
- Fixed an iSCSI issue were using a IQN greater then 64 characters could prevent the host from accessing the LUNs.
- Changed the default IPv6 setting to disabled.
- Corrected controller summary page information that shows the host board type as Unknown.
- Fixed an issue were a very large list of SMcli commands could cause the TCP/IP connections to stop responding.
- Added additional SAS MEL events.
November 16, 2007 - Version 06.70.22.00
- Update to include SATA disk support in EXP3000 and DS3200, DS3300 and DS3400 subsystem models.
- Added support for AIX and Linux on Power operating systems.
- Multiple Host Software and Controller Firmware bug fixes.
August 16, 2007 - Version 06.50.02.00
- Initial release to support single and dual controller DS3300 subsystem models.
- Initial release to support EXP3000 attachment to DS3300 storage subsystem.
January 22, 2007 - Version 06.17.30.08
- Initial release to support DS3200 and DS3400 storage subsystems in single and dual controller configurations.
- Initial release to support EXP3000 attachment to DS3200 and DS3400 storage subsystem
