Abstract

The BIOS update enhances the server to address operational issues, add new functions, or expand functions.

This release supports the following system:
o IBM eServer xSeries 220 (Type 8645)

Version 1.07

  • Reserve extra I/O space on bus 0 to prevent a system hang and/or NMI when running OS/2.

Version 1.05

  • Fixed erroneous "Memory size has been changed" error message when disabling the Primary IDE controller inside the POST/BIOS setup utility.
  • Fixed cmosutil.exe to properly save and restore serial and parallel settings and any other CMOS setting currently stored inside BANK2 of CMOS.
  • Added in Setup menu help for the Wake-On-Lan menu item.

  • The BIOS now shows the proper speed for processor speeds greater than 1 GHz.
  • The BIOS Setup references were changed from service processor to system management adapter/processor.
  • The Generate Predictive Failure Analysis (PFA) warning to the system management adapter when critical system components fail (memory, PCI devices, processors, etc) was added.
  • The amount of system memory available when 4GB of RAM is installed was increased.
