IBM 10/100 Ethernet Adapters, IBM Gigabit Ethernet Adapters and IBM Netfinity Ethernet Adapters - PROSet 2 in version 5.1 and version 3.0 software supports Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0, and Windows 9x.
PROSet 2 in version 5.1 and version 3.0 software supports Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0, and Windows 9x.
In general, the key functions and features on PROSet 2 are:
- The GUI is set up with folders
- The General folder shows adapter hardware data and network link status
- Adapter Teaming or VLAN can be set by right click on one of the NICs
- Users can select to show or hide the PROSet II display icon
- The Advanced folder allows checking or setting advanced parameters
- The Network Driver folder has both driver and driver statistics data
- The Diagnostics folder allows end user to run adapter Windows diagnostics
- The Boot Agent folder shows Boot ROM and Boot settings data
The installation of PROSet 2 is as followed:
Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
- PROSet 2 is installed automatically with drivers install
Microsoft Windows 9x, Windows 2000, or Windows XP
- PROSet 2 is not installed with drivers install
- Use version 5.1 or version 3.0 software releases

To install PROSet 2 with Microsoft Windows 9x, Windows 2000, or Windows XP, proceed as follows:
- Go to \Windows\PROSet2 on the sw CD and run Setup.exe
- Or install PROSet 2 from the CD Autorun "Install Advanced Features" option
Setup.exe will install both the PROSet 2 GUI and Display Icon and the latest Network Management Software (NMS) service. The NMS software tracks and updates the adapter hardware/software/network status to PROSet 2 interface for all monitoring and management purposes.
