Resolving The Problem

ARCserveIT v6.6 for NetWare installation instructions when using IBM 3502 Tape Library

1. Launch ARCserveIT installation.
2. Click Next after reviewing the license agreement.
3. Click Next at the Welcome screen.
4. Select ARCserveIT6.6 for NetWare under Enterprise Solution.
5. Select ARCserveIT6.6 for Netware under Products.
6. Click Install.
7. Click Next at the Welcome screen.
8. Click Next at the License screen.
9. Select Source Media - Hard Disk or CD-ROM.
10. Select Complete for Type of Install.
11. Select your server name (under NetWare), then click Add.
12. Verify selections, and ensure Connection type = Bindery Emulation Mode, then click Next.
13. Click X to install Manager on Server, then click Next.
14. Select options to install SMS, Virus Free, or Alert Modules, then click Next.
15. Verify selections, then click Next.
16. Enter key number, then click Next.
17. Select Yes to overwrite existing outdated Btrieve files.
18. Verify that the files are highlighted, LEAVE THEM HIGHLIGHTED, make no selections below, then click Next.
19. Wait during the messages "Files are being copied now..." and "Tape Support files are being copied now...".
20. Ensure Shared/ASPI/NWPA is selected from the Adapter screen, then click Next.
21. Ensure Board is set to 0.
22. Ensure Supported Adapters is set to Novell Netware ASPI SCSI Manager, (not NWPA Shared Fibre Ch, nor Adaptec 294x).
23. Remember after installation that NWASPI.CDM has to be loaded before starting ARCserveIT.
24. Verify selected adapter, host = 0, then click Next.
25. Select the driver under Configure Board Drivers, do not select any other options below, then click Next.
26. Accept the default drive letter for Use MS DOS Mapping, do not use UNC path, then click Next.
27. Click Exit when the installation is finished.
28. Remember to load NWASPI.CDM before starting ARCserveIT.
29. Proceed to "ARCserveIT v6.6 for NetWare Tape Library Option installation instructions" (below).

ARCserveIT v6.6 for NetWare Tape Library Option installation instructions (for IBM 3502)

1. Launch ARCserveIT Tape Library Option installation.
2. Click Next after reviewing the license agreement.
3. Click Next at the Welcome screen.
4. Select ARCserveIT6.6 Storage Options Under Enterprise Solution.
5. Select ARCserveIT6.6 Tape Library Option 6.6 Under Products, then click Next.
6. DO NOT DO ANY THING ASKED HERE, click Next, only verify that ARCserveIT is running on the server at this point, then click Next again.
7. Verify server name, then click Next.
8. When asked to Deactivate ARCserveIT, go to the server, press Alt+Esc, select ARCserve Scheduler Screen, deactivate ARCserve here, and return to the client machine.
9. Click OK, then click Next.
10. Enter key number, then click Next.
11. Verify this information:
    [7][0]= Adapter SCSI ID/LUN#:(2940) Number
    [0][0]= SCSI ID/LUN#:(Autoloader) Number
12. Click Next.
13. You DO NOT have to add the tape drive to the server, it's done automatically.
14. Give the tape a Device Group Name.
15. Make selections if cleaning tape is installed, then click Next.
16. Verify this information:
    [0][0][0]= Board Number/SCSI ID/LUN#:Autoloader
    [0][1][0]= Board Number/SCSI ID/LUN#:Quantum DLT7000
17. Click Next, then click OK, then click Exit.
18. Installation is complete.
