Any combination of Servers, Host Bus Adapter (HBA), and a Storage Controller from the Failover Cluster Solution Program Matrices can be used to create a Failover Cluster solution. As a best practice IBM and Microsoft suggest that you run the Microsoft Windows Server 2012 in-box Cluster Validation Tool (CVT) when creating a new cluster or changing a key component.
